Daryl Bennett, based in Vancouver, British Columbia, has been composing award winning scores for film and television for over 30 years. In 2022, Daryl was honoured to receive the Queen Elizabeth Platinum Jubilee Award for Achievement in the Arts, has won eight Leo Awards, two SOCAN awards, and has been nominated for two GRAMMYs, a Gemini, a Canadian Screen Award, and a Genie.
Credits include Network Entertainment’s 2022/2023 Legends of Hockey series; BISPING (2021 Leo Award winner Best Musical Score), featuring Michael Bisping, Vin Diesel, and Mickey Rourke; The Murders starring Jessica Lucas for City TV (2020 Leo Award winner Best Musical Score); The Connected Universe (narrated by Sir Patrick Stewart); I AM MLK JR., (2021 and 2022 SOCAN Award Best Musical Score and 2019 Leo Award winner Best Musical Score); IRL the Series, I AM Paul Walker Jr., Lost Solace, The Exhibition (Emmy Award winner, Canadian Screen Award winner and Leo Award winner) and Nash-The Documentary (Best Musical Score nomination).
Bennett’s career includes experience as a film composer, film editor, and sound designer. He has worked on numerous feature films, television productions, documentaries, web productions, commercials, and corporate videos.
As a drummer, cellist, and recording artist, Bennett’s success has enabled him to work with a wide range of artists and producers such as Ray Charles, David Foster, Andrae Crouch, Celine Dion, Kenny Rogers, Kenny G, Kenny Loggins, Emmy/Grammy nominated engineer/mixer Jorge Vivo, Sony Pictures producer Tim Davis, Franke Previte (Dirty Dancing), Powder Blues, and many more. He has also enjoyed numerous collaborations as a music producer and songwriter earning a Grammy nomination for Best Pop/Contemporary Gospel Album with Andrae Crouch.
In the span of his career, he has produced hundreds of hours of broadcast audio mixes and sound tracks.
